About the job:
Incumbent performs journey-level preventive maintenance, repair, and minor construction on the federally supported facilities, equipment and systems, roads and grounds incidental to the operation, sustainment, restoration, and modernization of the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center including providing emergency response (on-call) and service calls.
A day in the life:
Install, repair and maintain all phases of electrical breaker boxes, switches, exhaust fans, lights, exit lights, security lights, water coolers, kitchen equipment, etc;
Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as: water pumps, sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, faucets, drain lines, etc;
Assist in the installation and repair of main water lines;
Build, install and repair walls, porches, additions to buildings, doors, screens, windows, drywall, floor tile, roofing, gutters, drain pipes, siding, soffit, bulletin boards, cabinets, counters, etc;
Paints and/or applies other surface finishes to walls, ceilings, window frames, woodwork, curbs, roadways, furniture, equipment, interior and exterior structures;
Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to HVAC systems, refrigeration and AC systems including ductwork;
Performs grounds maintenance work including, but not limited to mowing, trimming, fertilizing, leaf removal, trash pick-up, snow and ice removal, and minor repair of parking areas, roads and walks;
Install and repair locks and latches
What we are looking for:
Two (2) years work experience in building or maintenance trades or accredited vocational training in building trades, maintenance trades or related.
Valid High School Diploma or GED;
Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License and obtain a military Driver's License; and may be required to obtain a CDL
