MIG and TIG Fabrication Welder

Purpose:
The MIG and TIG welder is primarily responsible to perform GMAW & GTAW of mild steel, stainless steel & Aluminum.
The team member will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards regarding assembly specifications.
Essential Functions:
Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the jobPlans details of working procedures and tools and material requirementsCleans and prepares surfaces to be weldedMIG & TIG weld with no defectsFit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawingsBuilds up worn or defective surfaces.
Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air grinders, etc) Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderlyMonitors supplies (gas, weld tips and grinding disks) Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelinesConduct operations in a manner that promote safety.
Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GEDAWS Certification desired2
years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to MIG & TIG weld EUR mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steelMust be able to adjust the welder in order to get a quality weldAbility to read blueprintsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desiredCompliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and proceduresAttention to detailWillingness and ability to work overtimeAmericans with Disabilities SpecificationsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
