Field Service Writer Reports to:
Service Manager Job Description Summary/Objective The Service Writer provides a connection between a customer and a service technician; ensuring that a customer's needs are being fulfilled.
Service Writer Essential Functions Answers service phone calls and records customer's machine issues, relays to service personnel if needed.
Schedules service and preventative maintenance visits at customer's site.
Schedules flight arrangements as needed.
Assists service department in analyzing the nature of the machine issues.
Acts as liaison between customer and service engineer.
Develop and maintain customer relationships through successful service delivery.
Maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
Creates customer invoices Maintains organized recordkeeping.
Service Writer Competencies Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Strong organizational skills Maintains professional but friendly demeanor Computer literate Supervisory Responsibility The Service Writer position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment Office Environment.
Physical Demands The Service Writer position is a desk position utilizing the phone and computer.
There may be opportunities to check on inventory in the warehouse.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work The Service Writer is a full-time hourly wage position and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:
30 am to 4:
15 pm.
Travel The Service Writer position requires no travel.
Required Education and Experience High School Diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or and equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
Previous work experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
