Make independent judgement and determine the type and extent of repairsneeded, completing repairs with little or no check during and upon completion.
MUST HAVE STANDARD MECHANICS TOOL KIT.
Complete repairs and adjustments in accordance with Technical Manualspecifications and ensure rolling stock functions in accordance with safetyregulations.
Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and perform operational checks on a wide varietyof major components and systems.
Perform troubleshooting tests and techniques using test equipment andinspections.
Perform preventative/scheduled maintenance program for assignedequipment.
Military or civilian small engine repair / vehicle maintenance background ishighly desirable.
Knowledge of engine repairs and detailed operatingcharacteristics to include, but not limited to four-wheel drive vehicles.
Workingknowledge of safety regulations and procedures, as well as performing heavyduty maintenance including, but not limited to, diesel engines.
